Through the Looking Glass: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Through the Looking Glass: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a wonderful novel by Lewis Carroll, but is more commonly known as Alice in Wonderland. The book is about a young girl probably about your age who lives in the 1860’s in England falls down a rabbit hole. When she lands in Wonderland she finds a world full of strange creatures that are smaller than her so she eats biscuits of drinks some potion to change her size accordingly. There she meets creatures such as talking animals, a card based government and creatures only found in ancient mythology. As she travels through Wonderland she meets some notable characters such as a Mad Hatter who truly is mad and constantly is having tea and a duchess that employs a senile cook who brings her baby great illness and almost decapitates him before Alice save the youth. Alice also meets a women known as the Queen of Hearts who is literally that, and who is lacking any common sense as she orders everyone to be executed without reason constantly, and they do not receive a trial.  As Alice’s adventures in Wonderland conclude she finds herself to be napping on her sisters lap and that she was simply dreaming.

Lewis Carroll magnificently writes Alice’s adventures and they have been made into movies several times and remain a childhood classic that many adore. I love the novel and know that several of you reading this do too, yet I know many of you have only watched the movie but I highly suggest that you read the book that so many adore.
