Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary is a realistic fiction novel. For a school assignment, Leigh Botts decides to send a fan letter to his favorite author, Mr. Henshaw. To his surprise, Mr. Henshaw writes back while giving helpful advice. They continue to send letters and Leigh tells the author about his life, like how his parents are divorced and how someone keeps stealing the “good stuff” from his lunch. Dear Mr. Henshaw is a nice, coming of age story that will leave you satisfied.
