Reboot by Amy Tintera
Reboot by Amy Tintera was one of the books I picked up at the book fair. The story is about a “post-apocalyptic” world, where the only known region to be functioning is Texas. Thanks to a man-made virus that spread, there was the creation of Reboots: those who had died and had come back faster, stronger, and able to heal. However, the longer they are dead, the less emotional they become. These beings are enslaved by humankind and act as a sort of police. Wren 178 was dead for 178 minutes, and is the highest number in Texas. But when Callum 22 comes along and makes her think about her actions, she’s done taking orders. This book mixed action with scenes of friendship and romance, and was one of my best reads this year.
