8th grade Salsa Dance

The Spring Concert has always been a tradition that always entertains the parents with our astounding vocal performances. It is especially remarkable for the eighth graders to perform not a song, but a salsa dance. This year my class danced to “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias, a song released last year. To me this dance is special yet very important leaving a stressed vibe at practice. Before the big night, I went and interviewed my classmates about their opinions on the salsa dance this year.

“Im so excited! I am (prepared) I feel ready.” says Madison Decastro. “I’m prepared for this dance and I can’t wait to show our family and friends.” replies Erin Breen when I ask what she has to say about the dance though some opinions are also negative and unsure. “Its kinda confusing.” says Karina Guzman. Others said, “We need to work harder.” Ashlinn Kingston complains that, “Some of the moves are weird.” “I kept on messing up” says Marlin Herrera. “‘I just look at other people’s feet trying to keep up lol” says Bella Paine when I asked what she thinks about the dance. In the end an anonymous person says “I think were prepared. Some kids that are prepared pay attention”.
